Cleveland Cavaliers Tickets
April 29, 1976 - A record crowd of 21.564 filled the Coliseum an hour before tipoff and they saw four quarters of hardcore hoops. Washington's Phil Chenier tied the game at 85-85 with 24 seconds left. With nine seconds left, Jim Cleamons inbounded to Dick Snyder. Snyder raced past Wes Unseld to hit a five-foot runner high off the glass with four seconds remaining. Chenier fired a desperation shot from the corner, but time expired and "Miracle of Richfield" was complete.
Februrary 12, 1989 - The Cavaliers sent a team-record three players to the 1989 All-Star Game in Houston and Lenny Wilkens made his third appearance as head coach. The West prevailed in the game, 143-134, but the Cavaliers made a good showing. Brad Daugherty got limited minutes and didn't score, but Larry Nance totalled 10 points and six rebounds in only 17 minutes off the bench and Mark Price tallied nine points for the East.
December 23, 1991 - As part of one of the greatest months in team history, Craig Ehlo sank a three-pointer as the buzzer sounded to send Karl Malone, John Stockton and the Utah Jazz home unhappy and give Cavalier fans an early Christmas present. The shot and victory were immortalized by Joe Tait's legendary call as the Cavaliers left the floor: "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! And he come's from Lubbock, Texas!"
May 17, 1992 - The Cavaliers won two playoff series in a season for the first time in club history when they sunk the Celtics on a Sunday afternoon in Richfield. In Larry Bird's last game as a pro, Cleveland cruised to a 122-104 win, tying playoff records for FG percentage (.590) and assists (42). Six Cavaliers scored in double-figures, led by Brad Daugherty's 27 points as the Cavaliers advanced to the East Finals for the first time.
May 22, 2003 - The Cavaliers had finished 17-65 in 2002-03, tied for the worst record in the league. But those days were in the past when Russ Granik opened the envelope that contained the Cavaliers' logo. It was white-knuckle time as Clevelanders prayed for the lottery balls to fall our way, and when it did, there was no doubt that they'd be selecting the hoops prodigy from nearby Akron, LeBron James.
April 20, 2004 - Only two other rookies in the history of the league (Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson) put up numbers comparable to LeBron James in their rookie seasons. LBJ was the youngest player -- and the only Cavalier -- to win the Rookie of the Year award. James finished his freshman season averaging 20.9 points, 5.5 boards and 5.9 assists per game. Moreover, the Cavaliers more than doubled their win total from the previous season.
